What is a sounding tube?
A Sounding Tube (also known as a tremie tube) is a dedicated pipe installed in the casing of the well and is used to insert a water level sensor and measure water levels.
Why is a sounding tube required for meter.me groundwater monitoring?
A sounding tube is typically required to prevent the sensor from getting caught on the well casing, pump wiring, or any other potential obstructions as it is lowered into the well. A sounding tube is especially important if your well is very deep or has a narrow diameter.
