Offline alerts for meter.bases

Beginning in November 2025, meter.base status alerts are enabled by default for all users except those with the "View only" or "Systems Admin" roles. Anyone can enable or disable alerts for specific meter.bases as desired.

Status alerts notify you when a meter.base you manage goes offline. This feature will trigger an alert when the meter.base has been offline for 60 minutes or more. The amount of time offline before the alert is triggered is not editable.

To enable or disable offline alerts:

1. Log in to the app and navigate to the water system with the meter.base you want to be alerted about
2. Select the ‘Actions’ tab (bottom right)
3. Select “Offline alerts”
4. Select the toggle next to the meter.base you want to enable or disable the alert for or use ‘switch all’ (top right) to change them all.

When the toggle is green, the alert is enabled
When the toggle is grey, the alert is disabled

To customize the alert preferences:

Select a specific alert

1. Select the Nudge frequency you prefer: None, Daily or Weekly
   - Nudge alerts notify you if the initial alert condition is still active after the nudge period (day or week)
2. Select the “Alert on recovery” toggle to enable or disable it
   - “Alert on recovery” notifies you when the device is back online
3. Select your preferred delivery method: email, SMS, and/or push notification to your smartphone
4. Save your settings

To enable or disable offline alerts:

1. Log in to the app and navigate to the water system you want to be alerted about.
2. Select the ‘Actions’ tab (left-hand menu, listed beneath ‘Devices’)
3. Under ‘System Alerts’, select the toggle next to the meter.base you want to enable or disable the alert for.
   a. When the toggle is green, the alert is enabled
   b. When the toggle is grey, the alert is disabled

Please note that customization of alert preferences, such as nudge, alert on recovery, and delivery methods, is only available on the meter.me mobile app (not the web app).
