Scheduled automations let you set a pump or valve to run automatically on a recurring weekly schedule. Once set up, the device will operate on its own at the day and time you choose — no manual action needed.
You must have an owner, manager, or operator role in your customer organization to create and edit scheduled automations. Anyone in the customer org can view the schedules that have been created. Systems Integrators with the roles of Super Installer or Installer can also create and edit scheduled automations for their customers.
How to access automations
Scheduled automations are set up via the web app. They are not available in the mobile apps at this time.
Log in to your account at web.meter.me. In the web app, navigate to your system and select Automations from the left sidebar. This is where you can see all automations configured for that system, including both sensor and scheduled automations
How to create a scheduled automation
- From the Automations view, click Add
- Enter a name for the automation and notes, if desired
- Use the Enable toggle to set whether the automation starts active or disabled
- Under Weekly Schedule, select the day of the week, start time, and duration (minimum 5 minutes, maximum 24 hours). Note that schedules for the same device cannot overlap.
- Select the component and the action it should perform (Open or Close for valves; ON for pumps).
- Configure alert settings — choose whether to receive Error Alerts, Start Alerts, and/or Stop Alerts for this component. **Note that these settings apply across all scheduled automations for that component, not just this one
- Click Save
Once saved, the automation will appear as a colored block on the schedule view and will run automatically each week.
Viewing the schedule
The schedule view shows all automations for a system laid out across a weekly calendar. Each component is assigned a color so you can tell them apart at a glance. You can filter the view by component if you have multiple devices configured.
Enabling and disabling automations
You can disable an individual automation at any time without deleting it — useful if you need to pause a run temporarily. When disabled, the automation will not run even when its scheduled time arrives.
To disable all automations on a system at once, click Disable All Automations at the top of the schedule view.
Editing and deleting automations
To edit an automation, click on it in the schedule view and update the details. To delete it, click Remove. Once deleted, the automation will no longer appear in the schedule and will not run.
Viewing past runs
Click View Logs at the top of the schedule view to see a log of past runs, including the date, time, duration, and status of each.
