The meter.me app will automatically send alerts to users if their meter.me equipment goes offline.
If you received an offline alert, the meter.me equipment supporting one or more of your water system components is offline, and you will not be able to remotely monitor or control this component until the equipment is brought back online.
If your Base is offline
Your meter.base connects to the internet via ethernet, WiFi, or LTE. It provides the long-range signal to the motes that are installed at various parts of your water system. If your base is offline, you can expect some or all of your motes to eventually report offline, as well.

If your Base is online but your Mote is offline
Motes are installed throughout your property to monitor various parts of your water system. A mote is wired to a sensor and transmits the sensor readings to the base and on to the meter.me cloud.
To troubleshoot, check the last known battery level in the app. If the battery level was low before the mote went offline, and if it has a solar panel, check that the solar panel is clean and in an area that receives adequate sunlight.
To check the battery level via the mobile app
- Log into the meter.me app and select the system where a mote is offline
- Tap to view the offline component
-
Tap the (i) icon for more information near the top of the screen to view details about the mote connected to this component.
To check the battery level via the web app
- Log into your account at web.meter.me and select the system where a mote is offline
- Select the offline component
-
Scroll down to view the battery level graph. If your mote has been offline for a long time, you may need to change the date range that is shown on the graph to see the last recorded levels.
If you have any questions or concerns about your offline equipment, please contact your installer. You can also open a support ticket on this page or by emailing support@meter.me.
If you do not want to receive these alerts, you can disable them (not recommended)
- Log in to the meter.me app
- Select Alerts from the lower menu
- Under System Alerts, tap Offline alerts
- You will see a list of meter.me equipment that has offline alerts. The name should correlate to the name of the component the equipment supports.
- Select the toggle to the right of the meter.me equipment name to disable the alert
- The toggle will switch to grey when the alert is disabled.
