If you notice a low battery, first determine whether the equipment is a solar mote with rechargeable batteries or a primary cell mote with no solar panel.
Low battery notice on motes with solar panels
Some meter.me equipment contains rechargeable batteries with solar panels. If you see a consistently low battery that does not recover during sunny days, you will want to check the following:
- Is the solar panel clean? Sometimes, it can get covered in dust, leaves, or pollen, which will impair the efficiency of energy production.
- Is the equipment in the sunniest spot available? Sometimes, trimming a few tree branches or relocating something that shades the equipment from sunlight will do the trick.
- If you need assistance relocating the equipment to a sunnier location, don’t hesitate to contact your installer!
Low battery notice on motes without solar panels
Some meter.me equipment is powered by primary cell batteries that are not rechargeable. These units do not contain solar panels. If your device does not have solar panels and the battery level is low, it is time to replace the entire unit. Please contact your installer for more information!
