How to rename a system or component

Users with an owner role can update the name of their water system or the components in the water system. Users with an admin role can update the name of components in a water system, but not the entire system name.

From the mobile app

How to rename your water system from the mobile app

1. Log in to your account on the meter.me user mobile app and navigate to the system you want to rename
2. Select the menu icon in the upper left corner of the screen

3. Select System Settings

   

4. Edit the Water System Name and select Done on the keyboard when finished
5. Be sure to Save your changes!

How to rename a component from the mobile app

1. Log in to your account on the meter.me user mobile app and navigate to the component you want to rename
2. Select the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the screen
3. In the Name field, edit the component name and select Done
4. Save your changes

From the web app

How to rename a system from the web app

1. Log in to the web app at web.meter.me and navigate to the water system where you would like to edit the name. 
2. The System Details can be accessed from two locations:
   • From the systems list view by selecting the 3 dots to the right of the system
   • From the Systems page by selecting the gear icon on the right side of the title bar
3. Select System Details
4. Edit the System Name
5. Save your changes

How to rename a component from the web app

1. Log in to the web app at web.meter.me and navigate to the component whose name you would like to edit
2. Select the three menu dots to the right of the battery status display
3. Select Edit
4. Edit the component name or location per your preference
5. Save your changes
