With the meter.me Fire Share feature, you can securely share real-time water availability with local fire agencies using Tablet Command. This feature is currently available for water systems located in California that have tank, pond, or hydrant components.
Here’s how to enable Fire Share:
First, ensure that the water system where you are enabling Fire Share is in an eligible location. As of Fall 2025, Fire Share is available for water systems located in California, USA.
Next, make sure you have the right role. Users with the owner role can enable the Fire Share feature.
Enable Fire Share in the meter.me mobile app
- Open the meter.me app and select your system.
- Tap the three dots icon in the upper right corner, and select System Settings
- Select Share water availability
- Toggle on/off which water sources (tanks, ponds, or hydrants) you’d like to share with your fire agency.
If you'd like to share them all, select the Default to share toggle at the top
Enable Fire Share in the meter.me web app
- Log into your account at web.meter.me
- Tap the gear icon in the upper right corner
- Tap Share water availability
- Toggle on/off which water sources (tanks, ponds, or hydrants) you’d like to share with your fire agency.
- If you'd like to share them all, select the Default to share toggle at the top
