This article will walk you through the steps to do the initial setup for your meter.base Pro.
First, review the package contents. Here is what your meter.base Pro package should contain:

- meter.base LPro (Mikrotik LtAP kit)
- Magnetic mount LoRa antenna
- Power adaptor
- 5-6ft Ethernet cable
- POE adaptor
- Mounting screws
1. Open the lid
Remove the lower hatch to expose the wiring ports in the device.
2. Connect the antenna and cables
First, connect your antenna to the top right port by inserting and tightening. Depending on your installation choice, connect the appropriate cables.
Option 1a: Ethernet connection (within 6ft of your router or ethernet port)
Option 1b: Ethernet connection (more than 6ft from your router or Ethernet port)
Requires a longer Ethernet cable, not included.
Option 2: WiFi
Option 3: LTE (same as WiFi, above)
3. Confirm connection:
There is a set of indicator lights at the top right of the device

- #1 The Power light at the top right of the device should be solid Blue
- #4 The LTE signal lights should indicate LTE signal strength
If you are connecting an ethernet cable, there are also indicator lights near the ethernet port.

- The LED top left of the ethernet port should be solid green (ethernet connection established)
- The LED top right of the ethernet port should be blinking amber (activity over ethernet port)
4. Using the meter.me installer app, configure your meter.base
- Log into the meter.me installer app and navigate to the water system where you'd like to add the meter.base
- Select Add > Add meter.base
- Enter the name of the meter.base and set the location
- Scan the QR code on your meter.base -- select Set up meter.base
- Select your primary network (Ethernet, WiFi, or LTE)
Option 1: Ethernet connection

- Select Primary Network Ethernet, then hit Refresh
- You should see the meter.base status online via Ethernet
- Select Done and then Submit to complete the install and add the meter.base to the system
Option 2a: WiFi connection (within LTE signal range)

- Select Primary Network WiFi, then hit Refresh
- You should see the meter.base status online via LTE - If it does not, proceed to Option 2b: Wifi connection (without LTE signal)
- The app will load a list of available local wifi networks
- Select the desired wifi network name
- If prompted, enter the password of the wifi network and select Done
- Wait up to 1 minute and hit Refresh until you see the meter.base status is online via WiFi
- Select Done and then Submit to complete the install and add the meter.base to the system
Option 2b: WiFi connection (without LTE signal)

- First, connect the ethernet cable as specified in the instructions for connecting the meter.base via Ethernet (within 6 ft of your router)
- Select Primary Network WiFi, then hit Refresh
- You should see the meter.base status online via Ethernet
- The app will load a list of available local wifi networks
- Select the desired wifi network name
- If prompted, enter the password of the wifi network and select Done
- Wait up to 1 minute and hit Refresh until you see the meter.base status is online via WiFi
- Select Done and then Submit to complete the install and add the meter.base to the system
- It is now safe to remove the Ethernet cable from your meter.base Pro
Option 3: LTE connection

- Select Primary Network LTE, then hit Refresh

You should see the meter.base status online via LTE
- Please note: additional fees may apply when using LTE as your primary network
- Select Done and then Submit to complete the install and add the meter.base to the system
5. Assemble and mount your meter.base Pro
Punch out the knockouts to allow the cords to exit the device. Replace the lower cap and secure by screwing in the attached screws on either side.
6. Install your device
You will want your meter.base to be raised as much as possible (on a cabinet or desk is better than on the floor) and as free from obstructions as possible (closing it inside a cabinet will reduce the coverage radius). You can also mount it on a wall or post indoors or in a sheltered area outdoors. The antenna should be placed in a vertical position.
Your meter.base is ready to go!
