The UC50X mote comes with data cables that must be connected to the sensor utilizing an included weatherproof terminal box (included). There are several options for wiring:
How to wire one or two analog 4-20mA sensors
How to wire one analog 4-20mA sensor with external power
How to wire one or two water meter pulse wires
How to wire one or two analog 4-20mA sensors
- Use the data cable provided for interface 1
- To establish a secure connection, strip the cable to expose at least 8mm of wire.
- Using the provided terminal box, connect the following wires from the mote to the sensor (see diagrams for one analog sensor or two analog sensors)
- Close the terminal box by fitting the yellow gasket into the lid groove, place the lid, and add the screws, tightening to hand-tightness.
- Seal the cable glands by tightening the nuts hand-tight.
How to wire one analog 4-20mA sensor with external power
- Use the data cable provided for interface 1
- To establish a secure connection, strip the cable to expose at least 8mm of wire
- Using the provided terminal box, connect the following wires from the mote to the sensor and the 5V 2A power supply. You will need to strip the barrel end off the power supply and expose the two inner wires.
- Close the terminal box by fitting the yellow gasket into the lid groove, place the lid, and add the screws, tightening to hand-tightness.
- Seal the cable glands by tightening the nuts hand-tight.
How to wire one or two water meter pulse wires
- Use the data cable provided for interface 2

Using the provided terminal box, connect the following wires from the mote to the water meter (see diagrams for one meter or two meters
One water meter Two water meters - Close the terminal box by fitting the yellow gasket into the lid groove, place the lid, and add the screws, tightening to hand-tightness.
- Seal the cable glands by tightening the nuts hand-tight.
